one of my favorite places to eat in Fredericksburg. NEVER a bad meal. wonderful southern customer service, and they send coupons out in the mail. YOU JUST CANT BEAT IT! GREAT Seafood meal....

Freaking delicious food was so good. Great prices and ok staff.

I haven't been here in a long time, but now i remember why i love it.

We decided to try out captain D's and I was quite impressed with it, everything that I ordered was fresh and very well presented, the staff were quite friendly and even patient with me as I was having trouble deciding what I wanted, and lastly the atmosphere itself is quite comfortable, I will be returning soon

I"'ve been to lots of captain d's over the yrs., by far this is the best one the workers there take care of there customer's, and the food taste great

The best fast food chain that offers seafood. There are plenty of options for dinner as well as dessert. They also unexpectedly have great sides like mozzarella sticks and bread. The only downside is the seasonal dishes like Lobster Scampi, but that's all seafood restaurants, so I can't complain.

So I stop drive thru on Mon9 Mar 2020 at approx 7:45pm. Line unusually long. Finally place my order 4 piece fish with 2 chicken strip add onstandard sides, fries and coleslaw. Informed there are no fries so they asked for another side I replied, "Corn". We are outta corn. So I suggested extra hush puppies.she then proceeded to tell me extra hush puppies would be total of 14 (was not exactly sure because can barely hear through broken speaker) I said never mind. I think she was even gonna charge me for them. Finally just said no sides and my drink. I finally get home and I got my order with no sides but also no hush puppies. But how do you start a week with your main side out and the main backup side out. That manager and ordering stock right on failed to do inventory.

It's nice to have a fast food ? Seafood place close to home. But last 3 visits you wait at least 20 min for an order of fried seafood.

Stuff was overcooked or under cooked and very greasy... BRING BACK LOBSTER BISQUE FREDERICKSBURG CAPTAIN D'S!!!!

Always a good meal at a great price. Food always tasty, yet frequently overfried so that shrimp are overdone. Despite it's shortcoming, never leave there unsatisfied with the value of my meal.

I had heard so much about this location,The hype was just that hype. They are better than average fast seafood joint.in thet the change the oil often and try for cleanliness. Reheating frozen food though is still reheating frozen food. Clam dinner was truly a disappointment. The hush puppies at least were decent.

Parked at location. Called them on phone. Ordered and had food within 10 minutes!!!

LONG line. Hopefully another chain will open in Fredericksburg. Food was good and at a VERY GOOD price.

Fish was fresh but dry . Drive thru manager undercover bad attitude short fused . The one in Ashland has better food . Stay away from the Mac because it isn't baked and the two times I ordered there was a dry spot on it Ashland customer service isn't the greatest either.

I manage the Weis Markets on route 1, Captain D's is always fantastic, but yesterday they came in to our store with plates of food for our associates working hard everyday. Everyone was so super grateful for that and I can't believe how sweet! Thank you for taking the time to thank our associates. We all appreciate it!

Good fast food places for fish. Good food service excellent, price is reasonable.

Service was excellent, even though there was a line. it moved quickly. Employees were friendly and worked fast. Food was hot and fresh. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. Dining room was clean and had plenty of seating. The lady who brought our order was attentive to our needs and made sure we had everything we needed. She suggested butter for the hush puppies and she was right. I'll never eat them without butter in the future. The menu was a good selection of every kind of seafood...different kind of fish, shrimp, crab, oysters.

1dt time having the blackend tilapia. It was pretty good

There was a cashier there, dont know her name, I think it started with a "M", she was great! Some customers were regulars and she knew all the details of their order, and she made customers feel welcomed! They should have her train others and keep her as long as they can!!!

I had the classic fish which was very good, the green tomatoes not so much.

Very friendly staff. Corrected orders with a smile even though they got the order correct. Some people you will never please nor will they say they were wrong.

The staff is so Happy they greet you as soon as you come in very helpful and polite and the food is great

The prices are a bit high, but the food is always great. It is the only fish my family will eat. We even drive 2 hours to get to it. I wish They had more locations since they are always pretty busy. But I would recommend you give it a try.

Service is always extremely slow.. Food is pretty good most of the time. Not always a smiling face when you get here

Captain D's is like the soul food of fast food. Can't be good for you but it's tasty and the staff were very friendly.

Enjoyed my fried shrimp & fish platter. The line was pretty long, but was well worth the wait! The staff worked diligently to get everyone's food out too them fairly quickly! Job well done Capt. D's Team!

I am giving 3 stars because everyone was very nice. The issue is that the quality of the food has declined. I have not been there in a while and when eating our fish we were saying to each other that it does not taste the same. In fact, all you taste is the batter. When leaving we asked if the fish was changed and they confirmed that yes, it was changed to a cheaper fish to keep their costs down. Unfortunately they did not lower their prices to correspond with their cost reduction...

Always good. Clean, very clean. Best and friendliest service around. Awesome spot for a fried green tomato fix. It reminds me of home down south.

Great lunch with grilled white fish rice, brocolli, & green beans. Next time I will get the side salad instead of the green beans.

The wait at the drive through is terrible. My last wait time was 15 minutes with only 1 car in front of me. The food is very good though.

Love this place all the people that work here are friendly and very helpful. The employees makes this business awesome. I was pregnant in 2011 and craved this place all the time. I left the area then came back in 2018 to the same faces still work there

The Federicksburg location is probably the worst place you could ever eat. the food is horrible but the service the worst. It's mind blowing bad. Has been for 15 years. My co-worker just went there and I asked her to get me (3) baked potatoes. I figured they couldn't screw that up, I stood be corrected. After she waited in the drive through for 20 minutes, with (2) simple orders, the person neglected to add butter and sour cream for the potatoes and placed the other order side ways in the bag and her entire lunch spilled in the bag and all over her car. I do not know how they continue to find incompetent people to work for them - but I will never return. Not even for a BP.

Very Greasy, Okra had no taste. Service was good.

I didn't use to care to much for chain fish restaurants but Captain D's has changed my mind. The food is much better and inviting.

The Capt. Is delicious. That's it. They have great clam strips, fish, and chicken. The corn and potato options are good sides and don't sleep on the sweet and sour dipping sauce. Will served me and he was very cool.

Food was ok. Lemon pepper white fish meal was really spicy and the meal didn't come with hushpuppies. 😢. But the coleslaw is really good. Friendly services and helpful.

GREAT service! Clean, well-lit. Big Fish Sandwich is SO good. Crunchy, big pieces of delicious white fish! Super friendly & helpful staff! Nice touch, with showing you your order! No waiting in line to get your order. Fast food without the "fast food" wait. Dining area is very clean and open. And the prices are pretty reasonable. Will be coming back more often. Thank you 😀
